Marty Abroms is the President and Managing Shareholder of Abroms & Associates, P.C.,. Abroms & Associates provides accounting, tax, and consulting services for clients with operations throughout the United States as well as the United Kingdom, Mexico, Hong Kong, China, Macao, and Puerto Rico. In addition to being a certified public accountant, Mr. Abroms is a certified valuation analyst. This special training allows him to perform business valuations needed for mergers and acquisitions as well as estate tax and gift tax matters. During his career, he has taken an active advisory role in over 200 acquisitions and divestitures. In addition to his professional responsibilities as a CPA, he is an active investor in several privately held companies in which he serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Abroms began his career at KPMG, an international accounting and consulting firm in 1981. In 1985, he moved to private industry as a corporate officer for the Anderson Companies, an affiliated group of companies with importing, wholesale distribution, retail, and specialty publishing operations. Some of these more recognized companies include Anderson Media, Books-A-Million, Hibbett Sports, Anderson Press, and C.R. Gibson. In 1995, Mr. Abroms founded Abroms & Associates, P.C., Florence, Alabama, to more closely focus on the continuing needs of the Anderson Companies as well as other clients with more complex tax planning and compliance needs. Mr. Abroms’ philosophy is, “If you take care of your clients, your clients will take care of you.” He also likes to remind his clients, “Remember, it’s not only the principle that matters, it’s the principal and the interest.” Mr. Abroms graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1981 and was the recipient of the Turis Fidelas (for the highest grade point average) and the Keller Key (the top university service award). He was also the recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells Award which is presented to those candidates that take all sections of the CPA exam at one time and receive the highest grades. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Abroms is active in the Shoals Chamber of Commerce, the University of North Alabama President's Cabinet and Foundation, and a number of other nonprofit charities and religious organizations. |

Barry
began his public accounting career in 1995 upon graduation from
Freed-Hardeman University with a BBA in Accounting. Barry
began work with Abroms and Associates in August of 1995 and passed the
CPA exam shortly thereafter. Over his years with Abroms,
Barry has gained extensive experience in Sub-Chapter S Corporation and
partnership taxation, multi-state corporate and individual taxation,
and compilation work. Barry was admitted as a shareholder of
the firm in January 2003. Barry is a member of the American
Society of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Alabama Society
of Certified Public Accountants. Barry strives to
remain active in the local church serving in a variety of functions.

and audit. Graduate of the University of North Alabama, Florence,
Alabama with degrees in accounting and finance. Graduate of Mississippi
State University, Starkville, Mississippi with a Master of Professional
Accountancy degree. Member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants, Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and
Phi Kappa Phi. While at UNA she was honored for achieving the
highest GPA in the department of Finance. At Mississippi
State she achieved the highest GPA in the graduate school. |
